Another Maine city has restricted local assistance with federal immigration enforcement to a greater extent than a forthcoming state law.

The Lewiston City Council passed an ordinance 5-2 on Tuesday night amending its city code to ban employees and resources from being used to assist or cooperate with any federal agency in any immigration enforcement operation, except where legally required to do so by law or court order.
