Starting next year, Louisiana could require health insurance plans to cover prostate cancer screenings starting at age 40, instead of the current standard 50. The screenings will also be available at no out-of-pocket cost to patients.

Sen. Brach Myers, R-Lafaytte, sponsored Senate Bill 84 with support from the American Cancer Society, which advocates for more effective cancer treatment across the United States.
