GEIGER HEIGHTS – A man accused of domestic violence and wanted on multiple warrants was arrested late March 28 after deputies say he hid in a closet and attempted to stab a police K9 during a standoff.

Mitchell D. Hyams, 25, was taken into custody after Spokane County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded around 11 p.m. to a reported domestic violence incident near South Geiger Boulevard and West Lawton Road.
