Students from the Port Townsend Maritime Academy (PTMA) just completed their Alaska Marine Safety Education Association (AMSEA) Drill Conductor Certification, learning essential skills for working safely on the water.

The training — required on many commercial vessels — gave students practical experience and confidence in responding to emergencies at sea.
