Certain New Hampshire Medicaid recipients will begin having to pay premiums in order to receive coverage from the public health program this year as part of a Republican plan to shore up the state’s finances. State officials say those premiums could bring in tens of millions of dollars.

Lawmakers, when passing the budget in July 2025, instructed DHHS to implement that system by July 2026.
