After passing its full government spending plan for agencies and departments on Wednesday, the Michigan Senate worked Thursday to advance its 2026-27 fiscal year budget for K-12 schools, community colleges and universities.

Senate Bill 860, comprising the three main education appropriations for the next fiscal year, passed along strict party lines, 19-18. The omnibus bill, Senate Bill 878, also passed along party lines on Wednesday.
