The town of Camden and Mid-Coast Solid Waste Corporation are suing manufacturers of toxic firefighting foam for creating and selling products with “forever chemicals” that have been detected in the town’s wastewater.

The New Hampshire-based SL Environmental Law Group filed the lawsuit against 3M Company, DuPont and other manufacturers of aqueous film-forming foam on behalf of the town and solid waste corporation, according to a news release Thursday.
