After a string of damaging audits for state agencies, Gov. Wes Moore (D) on Thursday directed his Cabinet secretaries to enhance their responses to repeat problematic findings by auditors.

Moore said he issued the directive at a time when inflation has squeezed family budgets for “nearly everything from groceries to energy.”
