Morningside University in Sioux City has selected its interim president to fully step into the role, becoming the institution’s 14th president.

The private university announced Wednesday that Chad Benson, who has held the position of interim president since June 2025, was selected by the university’s board of directors after receiving feedback from campus stakeholders.

Benson said in the release he is “deeply honored” to serve as president of his alma mater.
