Gov. Patrick Morrisey has appointed Del. Trenton Barnhart, R-Pleasants, to fill a seat vacated when former Sen. Donna Boley resigned earlier this month.

Boley, 90, was the longest continuously serving state senator in West Virginia history. She announced her resignation Jan. 8, citing a need to focus more on her family and health.
