Several Northeast Kingdom communities have been included in a proposed update to Vermont’s Opportunity Zone designations.

St. Johnsbury, Lyndonville, Island Pond and Newport were among 17 communities statewide included on the list of areas recommended by the Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development for Gov. Phil Scott’s consideration and eventual submission to the US Treasury Department for approval.
