Rep. Frances Holk-Jones, R-Foley, was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer in October. She owed her diagnosis to a secondary screening, similar to an ultrasound, biopsy or other diagnostic test.

Now, a new law she sponsored requires health insurers to cover them.

HB 300 was signed into law earlier this month and requires health insurers to pay for or reimburse beneficiaries for breast cancer screenings and any subsequent tests.
