SPOKANE – A new state law will expand property tax relief for seniors and people with disabilities in Spokane County, with changes set to take effect in 2027.

Spokane County Assessor Tom Konis and County Treasurer Mike Volz announced the impacts of Senate Bill 6162 this week.

The law, signed by Gov. Bob Ferguson, updates the state’s Senior Citizen Property Tax Relief Program by raising income limits and simplifying how eligibility is calculated.
