OLYMPIA — The gavels have been struck, and the short legislative session is over. Here are a handful of new laws from Central and Southeastern Washington legislators.

Crash prevention zones

Starting on Jan. 1, 2029, local governments and the Washington State Department of Transportation will be able to deem dangerous stretches of public road as “crash prevention zones” that would function much like construction zones.
