About a dozen members of the union representing state workers called on the Senate Finance Committee Tuesday afternoon to adopt a 6% raise in the state budget for certain public safety workers.

Currently, House Bill 2, which contains New Mexico’s $11 billion budget, earmarks $26 million for a 1% raise for all state employees, including public school staff and workers at higher ed institutions.
