New Mexico’s food and agriculture industries generated more than $50 billion in economic activity in 2025, according to a new industry report highlighted by the state Agriculture Department this week.

The annual Feeding the Economy report calculates that the more than 146,000 New Mexicans who work in farm or food industries earn nearly $5.9 billion in wages, which spurs additional economic impacts and jobs in industries like mining, construction, retail, finance and travel. …
