State health officials are urging New Mexicans to avoid consuming raw dairy following the January death of a newborn from a bacterial infection.

David Barre, communications coordinator for the New Mexico Department of Health, told Source NM via a statement the agency would not provide any additional information about the case, including in which county it had occurred, as doing so “would compromise the privacy of the infant’s family.”
