The New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology has narrowed its search for a new president to five finalists, following the previous president’s sudden resignation last summer.

The university’s board of regents announced Wednesday that the five finalists will visit the Socorro campus next week to meet with students, faculty, staff and members of the community. The board is expected to announce its decision for president during its regular meeting on April 17.
