Tributes poured in after former state Sen. Jim Tracy, a Shelbyville Republican, died Friday at Alive Hospice in Nashville from cancer.

Tracy was elected in 2004 and served until his 2017 appointment as Tennessee state director of the USDA Rural Development program in the first Trump administration.
