A maternal-fetal expert wants Nevada to rethink its more-the-merrier approach to neonatal intensive care units.

Dr. Brian Iriye, the managing physician at the High Risk Pregnancy Center in Las Vegas and a past president of the national Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine, on Tuesday told state lawmakers on an interim legislative committee on health that Southern Nevada’s perinatal health care system has a “major, major problem.”
