PLAISTOW — The Plaistow Police Department has reinstated its K-9 program after years without a police dog, pairing Sgt. Stephen Dehullu with Saxon, a 2-year-old German shepherd trained in patrol and search work.

“It’s been about two years since our K-9 passed away, and the position wasn’t filled,” Police Chief John Santoro said.
