The Port of Columbia and Columbia Rail, which operates the Port’s 37-mile railroad between Dayton and Walla Walla, remain committed to sticking with the current lease until they agree on a new one.

That was both parties’ message at the Port commission’s Wednesday, Nov. 12, meeting.

Jennie Dickinson, the Port’s executive director, said she met with an attorney who agreed that a consultant should be brought in to review Columbia Rail’s new lease proposal.
