PORTSMOUTH — The city is in the midst of a housing boom, with hundreds of units under construction, soon to be completed or recently completed.

Despite the torrid pace of housing construction in Portsmouth, the demand for both luxury condos and market-rate apartments remains high, local developers said.

Mayor Deaglan McEachern said he does not remember a time in Portsmouth when the pace of housing construction has been this busy.
