The first full week of May is National Correctional Officers Week, a time to honor the work performed by professionals who work in correctional facilities around the United States. Each year during this time, the Rhode Island Department of Corrections hosts “Family Nights,” when family members and friends of correctional officers are invited to tour the facilities at the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston where they work.
