Legislators told an Alabama Department of Corrections official Wednesday that they were concerned by reports that inmates were not getting access to rehabilitation programs in a timely manner.

Members of the Joint Prison Oversight Committee told M. Stanford Robinson, who oversees education, programs and reentry for ADOC, on Wednesday, that those delays were keeping people in prison for longer times or leading to inmates being released without receiving court-ordered treatment.
