ROCHESTER — When the public safety committee met recently, one city councilor lobbied for getting rid of the bicycle lanes downtown.

Councilor Les Horne said the bike lanes along Main Street are seldom used, and he feels they create a safety hazard to drivers, so he proposed eliminating them.
