Santa Fe National Forest officials Thursday morning announced forthcoming closures as the McCauley Springs Fire near Jemez Springs grew overnight to roughly 350 acres.

The fire, first detected early Wednesday morning, prompted the evacuations of Jemez-area campgrounds and the Sierra de los Pinos community and sent smoke throughout the surrounding areas.
