COLUMBIA — After making changes to the state’s income tax structure and property tax relief for older homeowners this year, senators want to do more.

A panel of senators met for the first time last week to start reconsidering major changes to the state’s tax code. The seven-member committee took no action Thursday. Coming up with a proposal could take several years, said Chairman Sean Bennett.
