U.S. Rep. Hillary Scholten (D-Grand Rapids) gave her support to Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson Monday, as Benson aims to move from the Department of State to the governor’s mansion.

In giving her support to Benson’s campaign, Scholten is the first sitting member of Congress to endorse in the Democratic race for governor, which currently includes Benson, Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson and biochemist Kevin Hogan.
