A total of 67,356 West Virginia voters cast their primary election ballots during early voting this year, 8% more than did during the 2022 primary, according to the office of Secretary of State Kris Warner.

As of Thursday, 48,233 ballots had been cast. On Friday and Saturday — the last two days of early voting before Tuesday’s primary election — a “surge” of 19,123 West Virginia voters cast their ballots, according to Warner’s office. …
