BERLIN — City councilors reached a compromise by voting to raise the sewer rates 3.75 percent instead of the proposed 7.5 percent increase.

The proposed rate ahead of final council approval was to go from $10.26 per 100 cubic feet to $10.77 for cubic feet for commercial and non-residential and from $8.02 to $8.62 for residential.
