Rockingham County Sheriff Sam Page widened his tenuous lead over Senate Leader Phil Berger after county elections boards approved provisional ballots Friday.

Page now leads Berger by 23 votes, in unofficial returns. He led by two votes on Tuesday night.

Page picked up 56 votes after provisional ballots were counted in Rockingham County. Berger picked up 26 there.

In Guilford County, Berger added 10 votes, and Page added three.
