Kim Ahern’s no-nonsense tone calling the Cannabis Control Commission’s Jan. 12, 2024 meeting to order showed no signs of her physical discomfort.

“I played college rugby, which is a tough sport, but it didn’t compare to recovering from an unplanned emergency C-section,” Ahern, the former commission chair, said in an interview on Tuesday. “It was tremendously challenging.”
