State Rep. Kathy Javner died of cancer Saturday, according to leaders of the Maine Republican Party.

Javner, a Republican, was serving her fourth term representing District 29, which covers Millinocket and northern Penobscot County. She was 52.

In a statement about her death, House Republicans described Javner as “a faithful servant” who “reflected Christ’s love through humility, hard work, and compassion.”
