The New Hampshire House of Representatives tabled a proposal that would require towns to tax solar equipment on homes and businesses for the first time in 50 years.

House Bill 1002, sponsored by Rep. Len Turcotte of Barrington, would repeal the solar energy tax credit, which allows towns to exempt solar energy infrastructure from the assessed value of a property when calculating taxes.
