HAMMOND — A Southeastern Louisiana University faculty grievance committee has ruled against reinstating a chemistry professor who was abruptly removed last year from a high-profile research project examining pollution in Lake Maurepas.

The committee’s recommendation means Professor Fereshteh Emami will not return as a researcher on the study, which is funded by Air Products, an industrial gas and chemical manufacturer seeking to store carbon dioxide from its Ascension Parish facilities beneath the lakebed.
