The special election to fill the Maine House of Representatives seat held by Kathy Javner, who died of cancer on Jan. 10, has been set for June 9, the same day as the primary election, the Secretary of State’s office announced Thursday.

Javner, a Republican, represented House District 29, which covers Millinocket and northern Penobscot County.
