Two traffic bills caused a jam in the House Republican Caucus Tuesday afternoon.

SB 341, sponsored by, Sen. Josh Carnley, R-Enterprise, would establish the Alabama Work Zone Safety Act, creating a pilot program for the use of speed cameras in “active work zones.”

Rep. Mike Kirkland, R-Scottsboro, who handled the bill in the House, said the program would “study if automated enforcement works to slow down traffic and reduce accidents and save lives.”
