State Rep. Julie Emerson has pulled her name from consideration in the U.S. Senate race in Louisiana, following the entry of U.S. Rep. Julia Letlow earlier this week with President Donald Trump’s endorsement.

Emerson announced her candidacy in October, targeting fellow Republican incumbent Bill Cassidy. In a social media post Saturday night, Trump urged Letlow to enter the Senate race, which she did Tuesday morning.
