Sunnyside Police Chief Rob Layman will be wearing two hats again.

The Sunnyside City Council named him interim city manager for three weeks in a special meeting Thursday. He will temporarily take over for outgoing interim City Manager Jim Bridges, whose last day is Friday. Bridges said he accepted a job in a different city.

Layman served as interim city manager after the council terminated former City Manager Elizabeth Alba in February 2024.
