SPOKANE – Three candidates filed for Spokane County auditor during filing week, setting up a contested race to replace outgoing Auditor Vicky Dalton.

Candidates who filed for the position are Democrat Callie Gee of Spokane and Republicans Dale Whitaker and Michael Cathcart, both of Spokane. The race will appear on the Aug. 4 primary ballot because more than two candidates filed.
