Interim University of Louisiana-Lafayette President Ramesh Kolluru racked up several endorsements at the inaugural meeting of UL’s presidential search committee held Wednesday.

While not “intended” as a forum for advocating for any one candidate — as described by committee chairman Rick Gallot — several speakers used the meeting’s public comment period as a platform to explicitly back Kolluru.

Supporters pointed to his role in building UL’s research division in making the case for his appointment.
