Republican voters on Tuesday will choose between two social conservatives as their nominee for lieutenant governor.

The runoff will feature John Wahl, the former chair of the Alabama Republican Party, who received 192,432 votes (40.56%) in the May 19 primary, and Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen, who received 180,292 votes (38%).

The winner of the runoff will face Democratic nominee Phillip Ensler, a state representative from Montgomery, in the fall election.
