Lifelong environmental advocate and community volunteer Gayla Shoemake was honored Wednesday morning as Edmonds’ 2026 Citizen of the Year 2026 by the Edmonds Kiwanis Club and the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce. The award, now in its 32nd year, is jointly sponsored by Kiwanis and the Chamber and was presented in front of an estimated 50 attendees at the Chamber’s monthly breakfast meeting.
