A number of high-profile organizations in Michigan, including those representing business, labor and education interests, have joined a bipartisan coalition urging voters to reject a constitutional convention, or “Con-Con” in November’s election.

As a part of the Michigan Constitution, that question has automatically appeared on the state’s ballot every 16 years since 1978, and if voters choose to approve the measure, the state’s constitution would undergo a total overhaul.
