Nevadans are embracing the state’s new public health insurance option.

Nevada Health Authority Director Stacie Weeks told state lawmakers on Tuesday that 1 in 5 people who have actively shopped for and enrolled in a health insurance plan using the state’s marketplace have chosen a public option plan. These public option plans, called Battle Born State Plans, are available for the first time this year.
