FRANKFORT — On the 53rd anniversary of Roe v. Wade, Kentucky advocates said barriers to abortion in the state “cost lives.”

A Lexington Democrat and representatives from the American Civil Liberties Union of Kentucky and Planned Parenthood’s Kentucky chapter blamed abortion restrictions for the state’s poor maternal health, HPV and cervical cancer and health care provider shortages.
