The Senate is advancing a bill that would require certain public school classrooms to display a version of the Bible.

Public schools and charter schools would have to make the Robert Aitken Bible accessible in all fourth grade, eighth grade and 10th grade social studies classrooms, according to Senate Bill 388.

Schools can accept and use private donations to purchase the Aitken Bible.
