The state of West Virginia plans to pay more than $12 million to a consulting firm for help setting up the federal Rural Health Transformation Program during the 2027 fiscal year, lawmakers were told Monday.

The program has allotted about $12.5 million of its $200 million budget to the firm KPMG for consulting fees, according to a presentation from state Secretary of Health Dr. Arvin Singh.
